Corporate Infrastructure Services Department
The Corporate Infrastructure Services Department (CISD) at GIC focuses on maintaining a best-in-class workplace environment that enables employees to perform at their highest potential. Within CISD, the Enterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ESP) team provides strategic procurement and sourcing support, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, value optimization, and quality assurance across all organizational activities.
What impact can you make in this role?
The Travel Programme Manager role sits within CISD and oversees GIC’s global business travel programme, a vital operational function supporting business continuity, employee safety, and travel efficiency.
This strategic role shapes the overall travel direction, ensures compliance with policies and governance, enhances traveller experience, and optimizes relationships with external travel partners. The incumbent serves as a key liaison between GIC’s internal stakeholders, vendors, and the appointed Travel Management Company (TMC), driving improvements through data, technology adoption, and best practices in travel management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong service orientation, business acumen, and an ownership mindset that fosters continual improvement while ensuring that GIC’s travel operations deliver value, safety, and compliance globally.
What will you do as a Travel Programme Manager?
- Programme Management: Develop, refine, and implement the long-term strategic roadmap for GIC’s global business travel programme aligned with organizational objectives.
- Policy Governance: Enforce and maintain travel policies and guidelines to ensure compliance and consistency across all regions.
- Service Quality: Monitor and uphold service standards in collaboration with the appointed Travel Management Company, ensuring travellers receive seamless support.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and manage strategic partnerships with airlines, hotels, and other travel vendors to achieve optimal value and service outcomes. Negotiate contracts and leverage global buying power to enhance corporate travel efficiency.
- Digital Transformation and Data Utilization: Champion the use of digital tools, analytics, and data insights to improve traveller experience, operational efficiency, and cost management.
- Risk and Business Continuity Management: Collaborate with GIC’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) team to manage travel incidents, address emerging risks, and safeguard traveller welfare.
- Operational Support and Advisory: Provide guidance to employees on various travel matters including visa requirements, insurance coverage, and health and safety protocols.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancement, cost savings, and technology integration across global travel operations.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in corporate or global travel management.
- Proven expertise in stakeholder management, vendor negotiation, and service delivery oversight.
- Strong data analysis and digital tool proficiency to enable evidence-based decision-making.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance, risk, and operational change effectively.
- Service-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and adding business value.
