Associate/AVP, Treasury Specialist

The Portfolio Execution Group (PEG) is responsible for functions spanning trade execution, funding and liquidity management, securities financing, portfolio rebalancing, and beta replication. These functions are carried out by 4 groups – Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), Beta and Asset Rebalancing (BAR), Global Trading Unit (GTU) and Applied Research Unit (ARU).

 

BMG is looking to expand the Treasury team and seeking a suitable candidate to join us as a Treasury Specialist based in Singapore. Treasury manages GIC’s liquidity pool and the Total Portfolio’s funding and currency hedging requirements with the aim of extracting value from these activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily funding requirements and liquidity deployment for the GIC Portfolio, taking into consideration sources and uses of funds.
  • Build quantitative tools to optimize and streamline Treasury’s funding and liquidity management operations.
  • Enhance efficiency and scalability of Treasury’s workflow by contributing to systems development and design.
  • Devise and implement strategies to generate value-add from funding portfolios in a risk-controlled manner.
  • Provide bottoms-up insights on funding and money market developments within coverage area.
  • Contribute to the development of Treasury’s business capabilities and networks.

 

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a Treasury or related role involving money markets.
  • Strong programming and quantitative skills are essential (preferred languages - R/Python/Java). Able to apply technical skillset to solve practical problems in different contexts.
  • Comfortable with data handling techniques e.g. able to clean, organize and manage large datasets. Knowledge of advanced methods of data analytics would be a plus.
  • Self-driven and action-oriented; seeks continuous improvement. Adaptable and keen to learn.
  • Takes initiative to share ideas and information and participates actively in a team setting.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
