Corporate Administration Infrastructure Department

As part of the Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting GIC’s goals by delivering strategic value and operational excellence through optimizing procurement processes, ensuring robust supplier relationships and driving cost effective solutions.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We are looking for an Associate or AVP to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor the risks associated with third party vendors. The ideal candidate will have a strong experience in vendor risk management in the financial or related sector. This role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

 

What will you do as a member of the Enterprise Sourcing and Procurement team?

 

Policy and Framework Development and Implementation

  • Assist in the development and implementation of vendor risk management policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive vendor risk management framework that encompasses due diligence, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring and resiliency considerations. 
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of vendor risk management activities.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness within the organization and provide guidance and training to employees involved in vendor relationships to enhance awareness and understanding of risk management principles and best practices.

 

Operations

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments of potential third-party vendors and suppliers to evaluate their financial stability, operational capabilities, security protocols, and overall risk exposure.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding process for new vendors in accordance to relevant regulatory guidelines and industry best practices
  • Review the due diligence process for new vendors to ensure they meet the organization’s standards and regulatory requirement (where applicable)
  • Oversee the implementation of risk mitigation plans and controls to address identified vulnerabilities and minimize potential disruptions to business operations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends related to vendor/third-party risk management and proactively refine policies and procedures as necessary.

 

What qualification or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, or related field; 
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in third-party risk management, vendor management, or related fields within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to third-party risk management
  • Proven ability to develop and implement risk management frameworks and strategies in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement (or demonstration of close working relationship with sourcing and procurement function) will be helpful High personal integrity, intellectual curiosity and ability to exercise initiative with attention to details
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
  • Strong customer-orientation, interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to manage key business stakeholders across different job levels and collaborate with team members
  • Self-directed and results oriented, with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Competent team player, with emphasis on team results and goals
