Technology Group
We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new, and emerging technologies. 
 
Director’s Office
The Director’s Office assists the Director of Technology Group in steering, advancing and overseeing the execution of our strategic plans, and the effective operational management. This involves developing and operationalising strategies with short term to longer term perspectives, while embracing a strong change and risk mindset.
 
What impact can you make in this role?
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the technology group. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, overseeing budgets, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability. Your leadership will help align technology initiatives with organizational goals, contributing to GIC’s vision of being a tech-driven, global long-term investment firm.
 
What will you do as an SVP, Business Manager?

  • Work directly with Director, Technology and to partner with TG’s senior management and stakeholders to develop and implement operational business strategies and initiatives that enhance efficiency and align with GIC’s objectives
  • Oversee daily operations of the technology group, ensuring effective management of resources, finance, and human capital and administrative activities
  • Lead and manage TG’s key annual business planning activities, including the Department’s annual Strategic Business Plan and budget process, as well as lead the Product Management Office, implementing frameworks such as OKRs to ensure alignment of product strategies with business objectives
  • Define, lead and implement change management strategies and make recommendations to senior management
  • Lead TG engagement and culture strategy and execution promoting a cohesive community culture within TG
  • Drive the transformation of the technology team, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to track progress and hold teams accountable for outcomes
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology operations and projects
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including senior leadership, customers, vendors, and partners, to ensure smooth operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and ensure technology initiatives support overall business goals
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, making recommendations for their adoption to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging the exploration and adoption of new technologies that can enhance operational efficiency
  • Support talent development initiatives within the technology group, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, reports, and dashboards to provide visibility into project status and performance


What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, technology management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in business management, with a strong focus on technology operations
  • Proven track record in managing budgets, financial forecasts, and resource allocation
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams to achieve their goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management frameworks
  • Experience in financial management specific to technology investments, including ROI analysis for technology projects
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
  • Experience in leading a team as a people manager
  • Demonstrated ability to lead innovation initiatives and adopt emerging technologies
  • Expertise in leading change management efforts and ensuring smooth transitions during technology upgrades
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including data security and privacy requirements
  • Ability to develop and implement crisis management plans to address potential disruptions
