What will you do as the Head of Global Command Center?
This role is accountable for leading the Global IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Operations function across the enterprise. The individual will design, build, and operate a world-class Command Centre and infrastructure services platform covering Data Centres, Networks, Compute, Storage, Databases, Middleware, End-User Computing as well as our Hybrid Cloud. A critical element of the role is integrating Cyber Operations and advancing the operational maturity model from reactive to proactive to predictive, leveraging AI, AIOps, and Agentic AI technologies.

 

Strategic Leadership & Transformation:

  • Develop and own the global infrastructure and cyber platforms support strategy, aligning with enterprise IT and business goals.
  • Architect a next-generation command and control model, integrating physical infrastructure, cloud, observability, automation, and integrated telemetry.
  • Drive adoption of AI/ML-based monitoring, AIOps, and agentic automation to reduce manual toil and accelerate incident detection and resolution.

 

Operations & Service Excellence:

  • Lead 24x7 operations across all infrastructure layers, ensuring maximum availability, resiliency, and compliance.
  • Oversee global command centre operations, including Tier 1 & Tier 2 support and cybersecurity platforms support.
  • Partner with IT Service Management (ITSM) to ensure effective Incident, Problem, and Change Management using ITIL and advanced process tooling
  • Partner with global SRE and DevOps teams to implement scalable, resilient, and secure systems and resolve incidents using software-based automation.
  • Drive automation of operational tasks, reduce toil, and embed reliability into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle.

 

Cybersecurity Integration:

  • Own the cybersecurity platforms support function in close alignment with the CISO, ensuring continuous upkeeping of these platforms, including vulnerability identification and remediation.
  • Partner with Engineering to embed cybersecurity platforms observability into infrastructure telemetry, and proactively improve the performance and resilience of these platforms.

 

Vendor & Partner Governance:

  • Manage global strategic vendor relationships and MSPs (Managed Service Providers), including delivery and operational performance, SLAs, and issue escalations.
  • Build, track and measure key metrics to measure vendor performance to drive enhancements and improvements.
  • Ensure robust third-party risk management and enforce compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

 

People & Organizational Leadership:

  • Track and drive modernization of legacy systems and platforms, including cloud migration and tooling consolidation working with the functional leads.
  • Introduce data-driven decision-making and performance benchmarking through advanced metrics and scorecards.
  • Drive cost optimization and capacity & performance tuning initiatives across platforms and environments.
  • Build, lead and scale a high-performing global team of operational leaders, engineers, and specialists across multiple regions.
  • Develop succession planning, leadership pipelines, and talent strategies aligned with global diversity and capability-building priorities

 

Financial & Regulatory Oversight:

  • Own and manage the infrastructure operations budget, including capex and opex forecasts.
  • Ensure all systems and operations meet regulatory and compliance standards (e.g., MAS, FCA, SEC, ISO 27001, SOC2). Work with relevant Engineering teams to drive standardization and remediation as required.

 

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Build and scale high-performing, globally distributed Operations teams providing for development and growth of key individuals.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Mentor and develop future leaders, fostering growth and career progression across the organization

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • 20+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, IT operations, and/or cybersecurity operations, with at least 2 years in MD or Executive leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in building and running global operations for mission-critical platforms in regulated financial institutions.
  • Experience in managing hybrid cloud environments (e.g., on-premises + Azure/AWS), and integrating ITSM, SIEM, and AIOps platforms.
  • Strategic understanding of agentic AI, autonomous infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Strong vendor management skills and experience with large-scale outsourcing/offshoring models.
  • Plus if the individual has worked across multiple geographies/countries.
  • Experience implementing and scaling SRE practices, including automation, incident response, and performance optimization.
