The Investment Technology group builds and enhances technology that supports the firm’s end-to-end investment lifecycle. It brings together capabilities across analytics, deal workflow, trading, execution, and operations to enable consistent, efficient, and data-driven investment processes. Through modern, scalable, and secure platforms, the group empowers investment teams with integrated tools that drive insight, automation, and operational excellence across all asset classes..

What will you do as the Head of Trading & Trade Operations (Investment Technology)?
As the Head of Trading & Trade Operations within Investment Technology (INVT), you will lead the global technology function that supports GIC’s trading and post trade capabilities across all public listed securities. You will define and execute a multi year technology strategy to deliver a unified, resilient, and data driven trading ecosystem that streamlines the full trading lifecycle - from order generation to post trade operations.
- Set and drive strategic direction for trading and trade operations technology, aligning with GIC’s enterprise priorities around cybersecurity, data transformation, AI adoption, technical debt reduction, and operating model modernisation.
- Lead technology delivery across the full trade lifecycle - from order management and execution through to confirmation, settlement, and payment - ensuring seamless integration and performance across internal and vendor platforms.
- Design and deliver a cohesive, enterprise wide trading workflow that integrates portfolio solutions, order and execution management, and trade operations, supporting all public market asset classes.
- Consolidate multiple rebalancers into a single, robust, multi asset rebalancing solution, improving efficiency, scalability, and control.
- Strengthen system reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, testing, and automation, ensuring high availability and low latency.
- Simplify and standardise integration across vendor platforms to provide a unified, consistent trading interface and reduce operational complexity.
- Partner with vendors to improve responsiveness, product quality, and adherence to SLAs, while driving continuous improvement in vendor performance and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering & Architecture Practice, Data, Risk & Controls, and Production Support & SRE teams to ensure architectural consistency, data integrity, and operational resilience.
- Represent Investment Technology in internal and external governance forums, steering committees, and vendor advisory boards, influencing technology direction and industry best practices.
- Lead and develop a global team of approximately 50 technology professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive talent development and succession planning, building sustainable leadership capability and technical excellence within the team.
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Delivery of strategic roadmap milestones, reduction in technical debt, improved system stability and latency, reduction in manual processes and reconciliations, improved workflow efficiency and release quality, stakeholder satisfaction, compliance adherence, vendor performance, measurable reduction in trading costs, and strong talent engagement.

You are an accomplished technology leader with deep expertise in trading and post trade systems, capable of driving large scale transformation across global financial markets. You combine strategic vision with hands on execution and the ability to lead diverse teams through complex change.
- Extensive experience - at least 20 years in technology leadership roles within global financial institutions or asset managers, with significant exposure to trading, execution, and post trade operations across public markets.
- Proven transformation leadership, having delivered complex, multi year technology initiatives that modernise platforms, simplify workflows, and improve business outcomes.
- Deep domain knowledge of front to back trading workflows, order and execution management systems, market connectivity, and post trade processes.
- Strong technical acumen in automation, data analytics, and AI driven insights, with the ability to apply emerging technologies to enhance trading efficiency and decision making.
- Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to partner effectively across Engineering & Architecture, Data, Risk & Controls, and Production Support & SRE teams to deliver integrated, enterprise grade solutions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leaders, governance bodies, and external vendors.
- Inspirational people leadership, fostering high performance, innovation, and professional growth across global teams.
- Commitment to governance and risk management, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Academic foundation in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
