Senior Vice President, Threat Operations, Technology Group

What impact can you make in this role? 

The Infrastructure Cybersecurity and Resilience function is an integral cyber, information and technology risk management function tasked with securing GIC’s digital assets and business data from cyber threats and adverse impacts. 
 
This role reports to the Head of Cyber Security Assurance and Defence and is responsible for oversight and management of the security operations center (SOC) at GIC. SOC provides defense against cybersecurity threats 24x7 globally. The candidate is expected to operate across various cyber defense disciplines while managing and driving through resolution of threats and incidents. 
 

What will you do as SVP Threat Operations? 

• Define and execute the global SOC vision, aligning cybersecurity operations with enterprise risk strategy, regulatory expectations, and business priorities. 

• Lead the transition to an AI-native, adaptive cybersecurity operations model that leverages automation, machine learning, and predictive analytics to anticipate and neutralize emerging threats. 

• Orchestrate “follow-the-sun” operations across regions, ensuring seamless coordination, consistent standards, and rapid response capabilities at scale. 

• Oversee the management of critical cybersecurity events and incidents, operating as part of the executive rapid response team and ensuring timely, transparent communication with senior stakeholders. 

• Partner with leading security technology providers to evolve and optimize the global security operations platform, integrating next-generation tools and threat intelligence capabilities. 

• Establish robust governance frameworks, drive process optimization, and ensure documentation excellence across all SOC workflows. 

• Develop and refine SOC metrics and analytics to measure operational effectiveness, inform strategic decisions, and drive continuous improvement. 

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within cybersecurity operations. Mentor and develop future leaders, promoting diversity of thought and global expertise. 

• Collaborate with technology, risk, compliance, and business leadership teams to embed cybersecurity into key practices or processes. 

• Stay ahead of global cybersecurity trends, regulatory developments, and technological innovations. Shape the organization’s strategic posture on emerging threats and future security investments. 

• Serve as a subject matter expert in network, application, and enterprise security, as well as in advanced incident response and threat management. 

• Champion the organization’s commitment to operational resilience, data integrity, and stakeholder confidence across all digital channels and financial platforms. 

• Act as key point of contact for audit matters. 

• Develop and manage security operations standards or policies. 

 
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science or equivalent. 

• Minimally 12 years of relevant experience preferably in financial services or asset management industries, with a minimum of 7 years in leading and managing a global cyber security function. 

• Professional qualification such as SANS, CISSP / CISM / CEH will be advantageous. 

• At least 7-9 years of management, team lead experience of cybersecurity functions (Preferred). 

• Broad-based experience across multiple cyber security areas, such as offensive security, threat intelligence, security operations management, endpoint, and cloud security. 

• Experience in SIEM, SOAR, security operations tools, security analytics, etc.  

• Experience or familiar with using AI for cybersecurity operations.

• Familiar with native and commercial cloud security technologies (AWS, GCP and Azure) 

• A good team leader and excellent communicator with both non-technical and technical audiences 

• Desire to work in a diverse environment interacting with various teams and functions to support strategic goals.
