What impact can you make in this role?
You will be part of an integrated team that provides investment services across all public and private markets asset classes for GIC.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across investment, risk, technology, and operations to ensure reference data capabilities continue to support GIC’s growth, innovation agenda, and regulatory expectations. You will enable GIC’s ability to scale into new asset classes, structures, products, and markets with strong data foundations and improve confidence in enterprise data used for investment decision‑making, risk management, and reporting. You will also lead transformative data initiatives that modernise platforms, operating models, and governance frameworks with key focus on shaping a sustainable, future‑ready data operating model aligned with industry best practices.
What will you do as a VP, Central Reference Data Management?
- Reporting to the Head of Central Reference Data Management, you will provide strategic leadership and ownership of enterprise reference data capabilities that underpin the full investment data lifecycle across public and private markets — from onboarding and structuring, through lifecycle events, to downstream risk, valuation, and performance reporting.
- This is a senior leadership role with accountability for the design, governance, and evolution of GIC’s enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem. You will set direction for how reference data is operated, governed, and scaled, while leading transformative initiatives that strengthen data quality, resilience, and business enablement.
- Lead transformative initiatives to reinvigorate reference data operations, including platform modernisation, automation, and operating model redesign
- Establish and enforce strong data governance and stewardship frameworks, balancing control, scalability, and business usability.
- Oversee reference data quality, controls, and issue resolution across the full investment data lifecycle
- Provide executive leadership on vendor and managed service partnerships supporting MDM and data operations.
- Set expectations, coach, and develop high‑performing teams, building deep data expertise and leadership bench strength.
- Represent reference data and MDM topics at senior governance forums, steering committees, and enterprise initiatives.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- At least 15 years of relevant experience in asset management, investment operations, enterprise data management, or financial services.
- Proven leadership experience owning enterprise data domains or large‑scale data platforms.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering transformative data initiatives, including reinvigorating operations, modernising platforms, or implementing new operating models.
- Strong understanding of the investment lifecycle across public and private markets; exposure to derivatives, structured products, or private markets is highly advantageous.
- Deep knowledge of data governance, controls, operating models, and regulatory considerations.
- Ability to engage, challenge, and influence senior stakeholders across business and technology.
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution discipline.
- Experience leveraging automation, advanced analytics, or AI‑enabled capabilities within data management environments is a plus.
