GIC’s Corporate Affairs and Communications (CAC) department is responsible for managing corporate affairs, branding and reputation, and all internal and external communications. It is GIC’s interface with key stakeholders, including the general public, media and employees.


We are reaching out to potential talents to join our Corporate Communications team as a Vice President to drive thought leadership. We will require applicants to have experience in curating thought leadership. This role will report to the Head of Corporate Communications and Senior Vice President. CAC comprises three teams: Corporate Communications, Community and Employee Engagement, Brand and Digital. The three teams will leverage on one another to build GIC’s brand and reputation.


Description Job summary:


  • Create and execute a robust communications strategy and an editorial calendar based on themes important for GIC’s business and our target audiences. Create or co-create the content to reinforce GIC’s point of view on these key themes.
  • Shape the agenda and content for GIC’s thought leadership efforts and platforms, namely ThinkSpace (online knowledge platform), GIC Insights (our flagship event) and other GIC external facing events.
  • Oversee speaking engagements and sponsorship opportunities for GIC.




  • Drive and manage all aspects of GIC’s thought leadership content and communications.  
  • Create and execute an editorial calendar for GIC’s thought leadership content and provide an editorial point of view in the creation of these pieces.
  • Ensure the Thought Leadership agenda ties into and supports the overall GIC strategic corporate communications plan of conveying strongly the GIC brand.
  • Work with and leverage the perspectives of key internal and external partners to develop and sharpen the investment perspective in the content created by internal GIC experts.
  • Help write and/or edit Thought Leadership deliverables (research reports, op-eds, commentaries, case studies and other content) that advance GIC’s reputation.  
  • Manage Thought Leadership team members dedicated to generating content and manage resources (people, budget, etc.) to deliver a robust thought leadership presence in a resource-efficient and timely manner.  
  • Manage external partners, writers and others to support thought leadership, marketing and communications.
  • Review all content from inception through publication channels.  
  • Work with other Corporate Affairs & Communications team members to oversee the development of an external communications strategy that spans print, web, earned media, and social media to help deliver the messages on the identified channels; to ensure brand messages and guidelines are clearly conveyed in collateral and events; and to reinforce this space within the company.
  • Monitor and give guidance on speaking engagements and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Grow ThinkSpace viewership and reputation in the industry.
  • Lead project management for GIC Insights. 




The ideal candidate is required to demonstrate good ideation and critical thinking skills, with an ability to break down complex investment and organizational information or data and interpret them to make sound editorial judgements. Strong stakeholder, project and time management skills are critical. Skilled writing and story-telling, as well as editing, are expected, as is the ability to research, synthesize and connect GIC’s core business to the research. The applicant should like working with people and have a positive attitude and can-do outlook.


  • With 6 to 8 years in multi-disciplined research, editorial, communications and marketing efforts, either in-house at a financial firm or other corporate setting, or through agency work.
  • Strong editorial, writing and communication skills, including direct experience in creating content calendars and communications strategies.  
  • Experience in or strong knowledge of the asset management industry including themes such as technology, sustainability.
  • Experience in the financial sector with degree in research, writing, communications or related field.
