Finance Department
Finance Department (FD) is responsible for financial management of the GIC group. We support the GIC Group in Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Governance, Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, and Treasury & Cash Management. We are a strategic partner to the departments in GIC and supports their operations, growth and competitiveness through our financial expertise and data-driven insights. What impact can you make in this role?
We are looking for a suitable candidate to join the Global Accounting Operations team with the Finance Department. The candidate’s responsibilities will include accounting operations and financial reporting as well as leading the transformational effort across the function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and strategic alignment.
What will you do as a VP in the Global Accounting Operations team?
Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
- Accountable for accounting operations and month-end closing activities that involves (but not limited to) the preparation of journal entries, accounts reconciliation, cashflow management & forecast, intercompany settlement, etc.
- Preparation of reporting packages and analysis of accounting schedules in accordance with relevant statutory requirement, including trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss statements and accounting schedules.
Finance Transformation
- Working with Finance Leaders to develop and implement a clear vision and strategy for the finance transformation and aligning it with organizational priorities.
- Identifying and optimizing finance processes and systems to streamline operations and enhance productivity whilst embedding adequate controls from a risk management consideration.
- Assessing, selecting, and implementing advanced financial technologies to modernize, improve finance operations and automate manual tasks.
- Digitizing opportunities include automated expenses management, enhancement of queries management, data integration and connectivity and development of online training and user-friendly materials.
- Building a culture of innovation and exploring new ideas and approaches to continuously improve finance operations.
Change Management & Stakeholder Management
- Leading and managing the change required for the function, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and technologies by engaging and training the team and business users.
- Collaborating with cross functional teams, including Technology Group, Human Resource, Risk Management Group, to ensure that finance transformation initiatives align with broader organization goals.
- Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success and impact of the finance transformation initiatives.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with at least 12 years of relevant experience in corporate accounting function and leading finance transformation initiatives.
- Experience in process reengineering and change management.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies to plan, execute, and monitor transformation initiatives.
- Knowledge in and experience working with financial software, SAP, data analytics tools, automation software, and programming tools.
- Independent, resourceful, and good team player who can collaborate effective with internal and external stakeholders.
