What will you do as a Software Engineer (Platform and Development Productivity)?
The Platform Engineering & Dev Productivity team is at the forefront of building tools and platforms that empower developers to deliver high-quality software efficiently. We are part product-driven team, and part internal consults, taking ownership of the tools we build and ensuring they align with the needs of our users. A strong product mindset and engineering excellence are at the core of what we do, with a focus on enhancing developer workflows. We use, embrace and evangelize generative AI and agentic copilots heavily within our daily workload.
As a Product Engineer, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to evaluate workflows and identify opportunities for improving developer efficiency
- Work closely with engineering teams to design and implement solutions that boost productivity, streamline processes, and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain tools and platforms for workflow orchestration, infrastructure provisioning, and service integration, ensuring they adapt to users' evolving needs
- Contribute to the development of a custom Temporal-based workflow orchestration system and FastAPI web interface, prioritizing usability and performance
- Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable systems using AWS and Kubernetes, while exploring the integration of generative AI tools to enhance operational efficiency
- Utilize AI agents throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to assist with tasks such as code generation, refactoring, and testing, fostering innovation and improving code quality
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to equip teams with best practices and tools that enhance documentation, testing, and overall code quality
- Drive innovation by researching and evaluating emerging technologies, including generative AI, to enhance developer productivity and product outcomes.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- 8+ years of relevant software development experience, with a strong background in designing, developing, and testing software systems
- Proficiency in Python and at least one other programming language (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript). Experience with FastAPI, Temporal, and SQLAlchemy is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in enhancing developer workflows and productivity through tooling and process improvements
- Practical experience with generative AI tools, such as coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot), and understanding their application in the SDLC
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and Kubernetes for infrastructure provisioning and deployment
- Strong passion for understanding user needs and delivering tools that solve real problems, with a focus on practical solutions
- Solid knowledge of software development best practices, including TDD, CI/CD, and secure coding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mindset and the ability to build trust with technical leads.
