What impact can you make in this role? 

You will be part of a team that is an integrated investment service team that partners the business in providing services to support public markets investment.

 

We are currently looking for a Vice President to enhance our Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance capabilities.  The Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance (RRIC) team specializes in researching, managing, and implementing response to all regulatory reporting provisions that affect the firm’s global investments with internal and external advisors.  Responsibilities include being the resident expert on regulatory implementation as part of the review of new products and markets across all product lines, particularly as regulations evolved.  The team also monitors listed investments across public and private markets to ensure compliance across various restrictions and limits arising from regulations, client guidelines or internal risk frameworks.

 

What will you do as a VP, Regulatory Reporting & Investment Compliance?

 

  • Extend support to the RRIC function in Singapore, coordinating well with the RRIC teams in London and New York to ensure seamless coverage for the investment teams
  • Manage the relationships of internal stakeholders, in being able to anticipate and respond to their business needs well
  • Leverage on internal and external advisors to assess global regulations with good understanding and application to GIC’s investments
  • Research, manage and implement monitoring around regulatory reporting ensuring all regulatory reporting obligations and provisions that affect the firm are addressed, communicating implications of existing and proposed regulation to management, and developing potential regulatory responses in partnership with Compliance teams
  • Lead engagement with business and provide compliance guidance and expertise e.g. reviewing impact of proposed transactions, new products, taking into account internal and regulatory requirements across asset classes
  • Develop policies and procedures, including coding and reviewing of pre- and post-trade rules in order management and compliance platforms, to ensure control and appropriateness and adequacy against industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Lead change management activities to ensure compliance with all new regulatory requirements and internal risk frameworks, including the implementation of regulatory and internal trade controls
  • Design and implement strategy plans for regulatory compliance. This includes reviewing regulatory requirements and crafting the plans around monitoring and control measures
  • Proactively share knowledge with team members on regulatory developments and industry best practices
  • Scan, assess and recommend applicable RegTech trends for adoption by RRIC
  • Develop positive teamwork and drive engagement with stakeholders
  • Establish good local network of peers for strategic partnership
  • Drive and support department / team initiatives 

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?  

 

  • At least 6-10 years of experience within Regulatory Compliance and Investment Monitoring.
  • Well versed in all financial products across all asset classes.
  • Good understanding of regulatory reporting and investment monitoring requirements.
  • Possesses strategic thinking and leadership skills.
  • Possesses strong communication skills and confidence to effectively engage multiple stakeholders. This includes strong interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate well within the immediate team, as well as stakeholders.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, good working knowledge with data and able to think strategically.
  • Experience with establishing and meeting critical deadlines, as well as tracking and driving execution.
  • Inquisitive and curious, resourceful, with a strong drive for excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet multiple demands and ongoing priorities.
