Risk and Performance Management Department


The Risk and Performance Management Department is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring and reporting of GIC’s market, credit and operational risk profiles.


We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and technically competent individual who has an interest in risk management, systems and methodologies. You will be a member of the Risk Systems and Infrastructure team to provide risk management and measurement support to the organisation.


  • Design the end-to-end workflow of a risk measurement system, from batch preparation work and data checks to reconciliations and publishing of results
  • Design the system tools and reports needed to support smooth operation
  • Work with risk managers, risk analysts and the technology group to implement new risk models or enhancements to existing models
  • Assess and manage the impact of upstream data changes or new business initiatives (such as new product requests) on existing system and processes
  • Lead a team of junior system analysts in the running of risk system operations and ensure the analytics are produced on a timely and accurate basis
  • Engage and manage external risk vendor in their delivery of new models and system functionalities, data coverage and the quality of their production support


  • A good Degree in Banking & Finance, Engineering or related fields of study
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in the finance industry
  • Strong understanding of financial products, trade data, market data and risk analytics
  • Experience in working with risk or pricing related systems, in the form of project implementation, risk operation or reporting
  • Practical knowledge of counterparty credit exposure measurement (e.g. potential future exposure) and related regulatory changes will be considered favourably
  • Strong technical skills such as Microsoft Office suite, SQL or other programming languages
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with different stakeholders and external vendors
  • Able to work independently under pressure
  • Good team player who possesses drive and initiative to be able to work with minimal supervision
