Chief Operating Officer (COO) Office
The COO Office supports our COO to streamline operations and align them with strategic goals. You will work with the COO, Heads of Departments, and stakeholders across GIC to achieve operational excellence.

 

What impact can you make in this role?

We contribute to GIC’s success by ensuring operational efficiency, performance monitoring, and risk management. The COO office collaborates with stakeholders across GIC to foster continuous improvement through cross-functional collaboration, quality assurance, and performance evaluation.

 

What will you do as a VP, Tech Project Governance and Business Management?

  • Oversee the portfolio of technology projects including reviewing and evaluating project proposals, prioritizing projects based on strategic objectives and resource availability, and recommending project selection and resource allocation
  • Ensuring that projects are aligned with our strategic goals and objectives by monitoring project progress, reviewing project plans and budgets, and providing guidance and support to project teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identifying and managing project risks by assessing potential risks, developing risk mitigation strategies, and monitoring risk throughout the project lifecycle
  • Engage and manage project stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations and ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Changes and updates should be clearly communicated so stakeholders are engaged and informed, and their concerns are addressed
  • Develop and champion monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) to track business performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Monitor project performance against these metrics and provide regular reporting on project performance to stakeholders and senior management
  • Possess knowledge of the different SDLC methodologies e.g. waterfall and agile and is able to cater the project governance framework to accommodate these differences
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts tracking resource spend and management, business / project plans, and sees plans through to implementation
  • Streamline policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Facilitate and support the periodical on-site examination and assessment exercise conducted by the auditors and independent assessors
  • Provide oversight over governance activities, timely and accurate management reporting to relevant senior stakeholders for proper management of technology governance, including change control mechanisms
  • Prepare due-diligence review reports, monitor the progress of remediation actions for the findings, and report to various governance forums periodically
  • Drive improvement initiatives to strengthen technology governance, improve operational efficiency, mitigate technology risk and improve service quality
  • Lead cross-functional teams, develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and partners
  • Champion and embed a high-performance culture and organizational mindset
  • Lead team members to identify development opportunities and enhance their competency in technology governance and risk management perspective
  • Keep abreast with industry trends and best practices and make recommendations for their adoption where appropriate

 

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Strong portfolio management and prioritization skills
  • Extensive experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) management
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain project governance frameworks for both waterfall and agile projects
  • Experience working with procurement and finance teams
  • Proficient in conducting cost-benefit analysis (CBA) for project evaluation
  • Skilled in administering project governance-related tools and apps
  • Solid technical background in project management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
