Total Portfolio Integrated Services
You will actively manage GIC’s data through technology-enabled activities such as data sourcing, maintenance, and remediation. Our stewardship ensures data remains trustworthy, and of high quality.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will play a critical role in building the future roadmap of Total Portfolio data, with a focus on Total Portfolio Investment Book of Records (IBOR), data analytics and measures of exposure, delivering Total Portfolio data to a wide range of internal stakeholders from senior management to front office, risk and reporting.
What will you do as a VP, Total Portfolio Data Strategist?
- Manage and oversee end to end data management operational activities in Total Portfolio data space. This includes monitor, analyse, investigate, and resolve day-to-day operational incidents and provide advisory to key stakeholders
- Oversee data quality management by ensuring the integrity and quality of data, designing quality metrics, and monitoring quality of enterprise data
- Actively participate in new enterprise data initiatives and projects including product managing platforms that are used for data management and delivery of data
- Collaborate with investment and corporate services departments, to manage inter-dependencies and contribute to operational excellence across enterprise.
- Proactively work with business (Risk Analysts, Front Office, Quantitative Strategists, end-users, etc.), understanding and analysing the business requirements to enhance our investment data services, solutions and strategies.
- Evaluate business requests for new data and work closely with Data Engineers and relevant stakeholders to implement and support data solutions using best-of-breed technology and methodology
- Contribute, influence, and review the design of data solutions to ensure they meet both business and operational needs. Close partnership with technology group in product management of platforms that impact total portfolio ecosystem, with focus on Total Portfolio IBOR, exposure and data analytics
- Plan, develop testing strategies and execute end-to-end user acceptance testing of system and data changes in data solutions
- Incorporate data management best practices into operational workflows
- Manage and maintain strong relationship with data providers (internal and external) and vendor to ensure continuous support and knowledge for existing and future data needs
- Provide support in documentation of functional requirements and specifications
- Provide coaching and guidance to juniors
- Set up, improve, and streamline data operations processes through analysing systems operations data (SLAs, customer satisfaction, delivery quality, team efficiency etc.) for continuous improvements
- Identify and recommend operating model enhancements and process improvements that reduces operational risk, enhance governance and controls
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
- Possess a degree with at least 8 years of working experience, where at least 3 years of hands-on experience is in total portfolio, data management, data analysis, data analytics and visualisation within investment and banking industry
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills to work as the central interface of multiple functions, balancing the priorities of various teams, and managing the constructive tension between investment department business priorities and central governance and enterprise requirements
- Self-motivated, committed, dependable, positive, and driven. Able to deliver high standards under extended time pressure with minimal supervision. Able to multitask and manage high volume of varied requests
- Provide constructive, pragmatic solutions, while demonstrating maturity and openness to feedback.
- Good team player that provides strong support to team members to accomplish overall team goals
- Good understanding of the principles, key controls and processes relating to data management as well as data modelling and data integration
- Agile and fast learner with the ability to “connect the dots” and able to adapt to change
- Meticulous and detail oriented, with rigor for thoroughness and controls
- Strong analytical skills and enjoy complex problem solving
- Experienced with the Systems Development Life Cycle implementation methodology (SDLC) and/or agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
- Familiarity with data warehouse, data models, data management tools and data extraction, data visualisation tools such as SQL, Tableau is preferred
- Experience in leveraging AI tools is advantageous
- Experience working with enterprise databases using database technologies (MS SQL, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL) and data integration products (e.g. Informatica) is advantageous
- Experience in economics/finance related courses is preferred
