Corporate Procurement

You will be empowered to deliver real tangible value and savings through strategic sourcing, so GIC can use its joint purchasing power to extract the best possible value from the marketplace. You will be responsible to ensure that GIC sources its goods and services from vendors and service providers with responsible and sustainable business practices to safeguard GIC’s reputation.

 

We are looking for a suitably qualified candidate to join our Corporate Procurement team as a Vice President / Senior Vice President.

 

What will you do as a Category Manager? 

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect categories, with a focus on IT procurement.
  • Build strong partnership with internal stakeholders to understand their priorities and to meet their procurement needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance and risk teams, to ensure the smooth delivery of procurement outcomes.
  • Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring service delivery and competitive pricing.
  • Oversee the management and execution of the IT category by keeping abreast of the market as well as identifying opportunities for value creation for the business.
  • Champion initiatives to improve the team or procurement outcomes by process improvements or the adoption of digital / AI solutions
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of category managers / strategic sourcing professionals.
  • Influence and partner stakeholders to ensure governance and control requirements, and adherence practices and frameworks to the corporate policies

 
What qualification or skills should you possess in this role? 

  • Good degree with >15 years of relevant work experience relating to the job description. Experience in indirect categories and IT procurement is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact with internal stakeholders at varying levels in the organization
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Structured in thought process, with excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Passionate in exploring and learning new skills and knowledge
