What will you do as a VP/SVP, HR Business Partner?

You will be part of the HR Business Partners team, responsible for co-creating the talent initiatives alongside the leadership team of the department/s that you are partner to. You will act as a coach and consultant to senior managers on key talent practices to enable business performance goals. There is an art and science to this role. You are expected to be a proactive communicator and change agent, who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions. You are also expected to contribute to policy formulation as thought partners, enabling HR policies and practices that will lead to higher employee engagement and desired business outcomes.

 

  • Strategic and trusted advisor to senior leadership, aligning HR strategies with organizational goals and contributing to organizational development efforts.
  • Lead people agenda and initiatives in partnership with Department Heads to drive workforce performance and meet future talent needs and business objectives. To be an advocate representing business needs to the wider HR community.
  • Partner with policy/ program teams and line managers in talent acquisition, talent management, DEI, performance management, rewards and recognition, so as to enable business teams to build future-ready capabilities and a strong bench of talent.
  • Work with the GIC School and line managers and encourage the growth and career development of staff through learning and development programs.
  • Provide insights on employee engagement from the ground and other channels including workplace surveys, as part of wider culture building efforts.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues and support line managers in conflict resolution and grievance management, in compliance with labor regulations and market best practices.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Results-oriented professional committed to delivering robust and proactive HR practices in a fast-paced environment.
  • 10+ years of HR experience ideally gained in multinational companies with proven experience in partnering with senior leadership and influencing strategic decisions.
  • Able to think strategically, analyse issues and recommend appropriate course of actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the temperament and skills to build relationships founded on solid trust and mutual respect and to be adept at influencing both business executives and broader HR team.
  • Exercises good judgment and is resourceful, able to deal effectively with a variety of challenging situations.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently while being a team player.
