We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new, and emerging technologies.

You will help to build and sustains strong technology foundations forming the bedrock of GIC’s digital solutions.

What will you do as a Platform Engineer?
We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Platform Engineer to join our team. In this strategic role, you will drive the design, implementation, and governance of secure, scalable, and efficient development, build, testing, and deployment pipelines across the organization. You will own and manage key developer platforms such as Jira and Confluence, and lead initiatives to measure and enhance developer productivity through advanced analytics and dashboards. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader in DevSecOps, passionate about AI, automation, developer experience, and continuous improvement, with a proven track record of influencing technology strategy and delivering business value.

 

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the DevSecOps vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with organizational goals. Influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption of best practices across multiple teams
  • Platform Ownership: Own and manage Jira and Confluence platforms, ensuring optimal configuration, integration, and user experience. Champion the use of these platforms for project management, collaboration, and knowledge sharing
  • Developer Productivity & Analytics: Develop and implement frameworks to measure developer productivity, including building dashboards and analytics that surface key metrics (e.g., GitHub repository activity, commits, deployments, DORA metrics). Present actionable insights to leadership and engineering teams
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, cloud, security, and business teams to integrate security and operational best practices throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and DevSecOps practitioners. Lead code reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, AI, and industry benchmarks. Drive innovation and recommend improvements to processes, tools, and platforms
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate complex technical concepts and productivity insights to senior management and business stakeholders. Influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations

 

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Education & Certifications
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or related field; advanced certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps, DORA) are highly desirable
  • Technical Expertise
    • 12+ years of relevant experience in software development, DevSecOps, solution architecture, software testing, and production/platform support
    • Proficient in modern programming languages (C#, Python, or equivalent) with hands-on experience in Test Driven Development (TDD)
    • Advanced knowledge of database technologies (Microsoft SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
    • Deep understanding of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and security/networking protocols
    • Experience deploying production-grade, standard 3-tier web applications or equivalent
  • Tools & Platforms
    • Proficient in GitHub for version control, collaboration, code review, and CI/CD pipeline management (GitHub Actions)
    • Experienced with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence platforms, including workflow configuration and platform optimisation
  • Developer Productivity & Automation
    • Demonstrated experience in measuring and enhancing developer productivity using analytics, dashboarding, and DORA metrics
    • Proven ability to integrate and automate the entire SDLC, connecting processes from Jira ticket creation through development, progress tracking, and ticket completion
    • Experience leveraging emerging technologies, such as agentic AI tools, to automate workflows – enabling agents to autonomously pick up and execute tasks from Jira or GitHub Issues
    • Track record of evaluating and implementing innovative solutions to streamline development processes and enhance team productivity
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
    • Passion for AI, automation, developer experience, and driving organisational change
