About GIC

Working at GIC gives you exposure to an extraordinary network of the world's industry leaders. As a leading global long-term investor, we work at the Point of Impact for Singapore's financial future, and the communities we invest in worldwide.
Technology Group
We experiment, design, and lead a 24×7 global business where we support core capabilities in asset management, trading, investment operations, and risk management. We deliver secure, reliable, and integrated solutions, and provide insights on new and emerging technologies.
Strategy, Architecture, and Transformation Group
Strategy, Architecture and Transformation (SAT) sets the technical direction for the Technology Group across two main halves:
Developer Experience — builds and operates the platforms that power software development across GIC, spanning CI/CD and security scanning (GitHub, JFrog), Cloud Development Environments and toolchains, and collaboration and portfolio management (Jira, Confluence).
AI Platforms — delivers and operates the enterprise AI capabilities that GIC works with, spanning AI assistants and AI-enabled developer tooling that are increasingly central to how the firm builds software and gets work done.
What impact can you make in this role?
You will be empowered to be at the top of your game by keeping the platforms that GIC's engineers depend on every day stable, secure, and performant. As the first line of defence for production issues across SAT's platforms, you ensure that incidents are triaged, coordinated, and resolved effectively so that development teams across the firm can keep delivering.
What will you do as a Production Support Lead?
- Follow-the-sun Support Model: Lead and manage a Follow-the-sun L1 and L2 Production Support Model for SAT platforms and tooling.
- Production Monitoring: Be accountable for the production environment's health and performance using monitoring tools and dashboards (e.g. Datadog), across pipelines, runners, workspaces, and platform services.
- Incident Management: Respond to and manage production incidents and ensure minimal impact on engineering productivity across the firm. Document incidents and follow up on resolutions.
- Change Management: Review and execute platform upgrades, plugin/version rollouts, and deployments (including base image and COTS upgrades) and ensure minimal risk and disruption to production services.
- User Support: Provide support to developers and stakeholders, address queries and issues related to CI/CD failures, workspace and toolchain problems, artifact and access errors, collaboration tooling, and AI assistant usage.
- Vendor Engagement: Collaborate with support personnel of Solution Providers (e.g. GitHub, JFrog, Atlassian, and AI platform vendors like OpenAI) to troubleshoot, mitigate, and resolve issues related to vendor products.
- Issue Investigation: Investigate production issues and engage relevant teams (e.g. infrastructure, platform engineering, security, and application teams) for mitigation and strategic solutions. As the first line of defence, triage and reproduce issues, isolate root cause where possible, and escalate to L3 engineering with clear, actionable diagnostics.
- System Resiliency Management: Drive system failover and disaster recovery processes for platform services and supporting infrastructure.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform run books, incident resolutions, and system configurations (typically in Confluence).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency and reliability of platform support, including self-help workflows, form-based incident reporting, and chatbot-assisted L1 responses.
What makes you a successful candidate?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in an application support, platform support, system administration or related role.
- Hands-on technical skills in the following areas:
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Datadog, Splunk).
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, ECS, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
- Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Knowledge of operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows).
- Stellar problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to triage and coordinate resolution across multiple platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking prowess.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A team-oriented mindset with a dash of independence.
- You do not need deep L3 engineering expertise in every platform; you are the first line of defence, ensuring issues are triaged, coordinated, and resolved effectively, and escalated with clarity where specialist depth is required.
- Strong experience in at least one or more of the following domains is preferred:
- CI/CD and DevSecOps tooling (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions, JFrog Artifactory/Xray, SAST scanning).
- Cloud Development Environments and developer toolchains (e.g. Ona, VS Code/JetBrains, devcontainers, Java/JavaScript/Python/.NET runtimes).
- Collaboration and portfolio management platforms (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
- AI platforms and AI-assisted developer tooling — supporting enterprise AI assistants (a ChatGPT-equivalent used internally) and AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot), including usage guidance, integration troubleshooting, access and configuration issues, and understanding how AI tooling fits into Enterprise.
