Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department
  

The Investment Services Private Market and Finance Department is responsible for investment services for the private market and financial management across the GIC group. It is responsible for providing operations and reporting support to the private market business of GIC as well as budgeting, accounting, payment processing, cash management, tax and financial & management reporting services to all departments, corporate management companies and the global offices of the GIC group. It is involved in deal structuring and closing, transaction processing, administration and accounting of investment holding companies, review of financial controls for asset operations, cash & securities reconciliation, valuation and financial reporting for assets under management, and external debt financing.

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Finance & Accounting team as a Vice President.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • The Private Equity Controller (“PE”) is responsible for the financial management of all investment holding companies and their respective global entities
  • Responsible for the financial control and governance of all PE group structures
  • Ensure consistency and periodic review of financial results of the underlying entities
  • Ensure Accounting Standards and regulatory rules and regulations as well as internal policies and requirements are applied and implement any new industry development
  • Perform analysis on financial results for insights and explain material balances and/or differences to support decision making
  • Ensure sufficient working capital and performs cash management for the group
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and savings
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure timelines relating to statutory filing, tax filing, etc. are adhered by for all global entities within the Group of entities
  • Provide financial insights to stakeholders, senior management and Audit Committee
  • Identify opportunities and drive standardization, business partnering and enhance analytic capabilities within the team
  • Process owner of functional activities that relates to the preparation of the accounts and financial statements
  • Provide guidance and direction to the team members supporting the Group of entities

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a public accounting firm and experience in either Audit, Tax or Private Equity
  • Team management experience
  • Detail oriented, high accuracy with integrity and an analytical mind
  • Strong technical and project management skills
  • Self-starter, proactive, self-motivated and a dynamic person with good interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations preferably in multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in facing off senior stakeholders
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams
